SOLILOQUY
Soliloquy is filmmaker and composer James Sharpe creating cinematic narratives through a coalescence of post-rock, ambient minimalism, electronica, orchestral arrangements, and dense soundscapes.
As a composer James’ work crosses boundaries between sound design and music, creating ethereal compositions and emotional soundscapes.
In 2018 he scored the branded content documentary for LG Signature about Siki Chan, an artist obsessed with the unconscious for CNN Style. In 2019 he scored a documentary about the moon landings for DHL’s 50th anniversary, and returned to score another LG Signature documentary about photography Delfino Sisto Legnani.
As a solo artist, James as Soliloquy presents a one person monologue conveyed live using one guitar and a host of effects pedals and loops. Each piece imbued with a personal story and crafted to take the audience on a meaningful journey.
Soliloquy has supported Haiku Salut, contributed to the Grawlix album Peeps, and has played Daylight Music a number of times performing written pieces and improvised sets.
